Why Taco Mundo?
It started in Mexico...
Before introducing Mexican cuisine to the Netherlands, founder Tom Filippini lived in various Latin American countries for a number of years.
In Mexico, he developed his passion for Mexican cuisine with its varied, colorful and tasty dishes. At Taco Mundo, that colorfulness is not only reflected in the dishes, but is in the DNA of the entire formula.
It started in Mexico and that country is still the inspiration for our chefs. They go there to get ideas for further development of our menu. In addition, in Mexico, we support charities such as an orphanage and the restoration of mangrove forests.
At the end of 2000, Tom started the first Taco Mundo in Amsterdam. That was an instant hit. Meal delivery was still in its early stages and Mexican food delivery was completely new.
More offices in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Haarlem will soon follow. In 2006, Taco Mundo officially became a franchise formula with almost 40 branches now. Taco Mundo sees great potential in the market to grow to 60 to 70 branches in the Netherlands. So plenty of opportunities for franchisees to open their own Taco Mundo.

Ideale franchisenemer
De 26-jarige Bram Puyenbroek begon zes jaar geleden als medewerker bij Taco Mundo Zwolle en groeide door tot bedrijfsleider in 2 vestigingen. Begin 2024 nam hij Taco Mundo Enschede over en werd zelf franchiseondernemer.
‘Ondernemen was voor mij een logische stap. Ik kende de formule van binnenuit en runde de vestigingen alsof ze mijn eigen bedrijf waren. Het ondernemerschap sloot perfect aan bij mijn ambities en mijn studie Ondernemerschap & Retailmanagement’, vertelt Bram enthousiast. ‘Ik heb heel bewust voor het merk Taco Mundo gekozen: een gevestigde naam in de maaltijdbezorging met een assortiment en kwaliteit die er in vergelijking met andere formules echt bovenuit springen.’
Ideale franchisenemer
Bram heeft een duidelijk idee over de ideale franchiseondernemer.
‘In mijn ogen is het belangrijk dat je als franchiseondernemer gedreven, vasthoudend en ambitieus bent en altijd kansen ziet. Wat ik bij mezelf vooral merk is dat ik plezier heb in het werken met, en aansturen van jonge mensen en om samen met het team onze klanten de beste kwaliteit en service te leveren. Onze leidraad daarbij is dat wij iedere klant beschouwen alsof het onze eerste is: dan doe je altijd een stapje extra!’
Ondernemen binnen franchise: Perfecte wisselwerking
Bram is zeer te spreken over de combinatie van ondernemen en franchise.
‘Je hebt voldoende ruimte voor je eigen plannen, maar je krijgt ook veel ondersteuning op het gebied van marketing en inkoop. De wisselwerking is perfect.’ Als franchisenemer hoef je het wiel niet opnieuw uit te vinden: ‘De formulerichtlijnen zijn helder en goed doordacht’. Elke franchisenemer heeft een ondernemerscoach. ‘Hij komt geregeld op bezoek in de vestiging en stuurt wekelijks terugkoppeling over de kpi’s en punten die we nog kunnen verbeteren.’
Toekomstkansen
Bram ziet volop kansen voor de toekomst: ‘
Eerst de vestiging in Enschede verder uitbouwen en wie weet open ik nog een tweede vestiging’.

Our menu consists of colorful and, above all, tasty Mexican dishes such as Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas and Enchiladas, which we have given a surprising twist. The Fries Mexicana and the various Nachos variants are also popular among our customers.
The ingredients we use are fresh and of excellent quality because we only work with the best suppliers. In addition, we use exclusive Homemade Taco Mundo salsas such as Mango Chipotle, Pineapple Habanero and Salsa Verde: made according to abuelita's (grandma's) recipe!
All dishes are freshly prepared so that our customers can enjoy top quality and delicious flavors. You can relax with one of our legendary Taco Mundo Ice Creams such as Dulce de Leche. In combination with a portion of our famous Churros, we make the party complete.
